EMC vergroot de mogelijkheden van deduplicatie

Deduplicatie ondersteuning voor Microsoft Windows Server Platform en Oracle, reduceert kosten en maakt opslag efficiënter

Nieuwegein, 20 mei 2009 – EMC, marktleider in informatie-infrastructuuroplossingen, heeft de mogelijkheden van data deduplicatie binnen het back-up en recovery portfolio aanzienlijk uitgebreid. Daarbij introduceert EMC ook aanvullende updates en diensten. Vernieuwingen in EMC Networker, EMC Avamar en EMC Disk Libary helpen klanten het maximale uit hun opslagomgeving te halen. Voor iedere individuele case wordt de juiste oplossing geboden, gebaseerd op grootte, budget en voorkeuren.

Nieuwe deduplicatie features voor EMC Networker Backup Software

EMC Networker biedt - naast de reeds bestaande ondersteuning voor VMware omgevingen - nu ook ‘source-based’ deduplicatie voor Microsoft SharePoint Server, Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft SQL Server en Oracle databases door integratie met EMC Avamar. Het beheer van traditionele back-ups en filesystems, Microsoft platforms en Oracle databases geschiedt eenvoudig vanaf een enkele console. Klanten hebben tot 98 procent minder opslag nodig en het maken van back-ups gaat 90 procent sneller.

Replicatie, beheer en rapportage aanvullingen voor EMC Disk Library

De nieuwe software voor EMC Disk Library biedt verdere verbeteringen in beheer en monitoring en features die de performance van back-up en deduplicatie in het datacenter verbeteren tegen lagere kosten. De software voor de EMC Disk Library 1500 en 3000 modellen verbetert replicatie tot80 procent waardoor ook de kosten voor disaster recovery afnemen. Via de monitoring- en rapportagemogelijkheden van de geïntegreerde EMC Data Protection Advisor kunnen IT-administrators beheer en analyse van de Disk Library omgeving eenvoudig verbeteren.

SharePoint Server 2007 en Lotus Domino ondersteuning voor EMC Avamar

De meest gebruikte ‘source-based’ deduplicatie-oplossing ondersteunt nu nog meer omgevingen, waaronder Microsoft SharePoint Server 2007 en IBM Lotus Domino.

Nieuwe backup en deduplicatiediensten bij EMC Global Services

Om de deduplicatiecapaciteiten van EMC’s oplossingen volledig te benutten heeft EMC Global Services twee nieuwe diensten in het leven geroepen. EMC Assessment for Deduplication toont klanten hoeveel dubbele data er in hun omgeving staan opgeslagen en hoeveel ze kunnen besparen met de back-up en deduplicatie-oplossing van EMC. EMC Operational Assurance for Avamar helpt klanten na implementatie de oplossing te optimaliseren.
